Hi Jeremy, Spiderr,
Discussions are now open.
Anyone who wants to participate needs to have a GitHub account.
Bruno
I second the proposal to enable Github discussions.
I actually think that the "dev" discussions on this mailing list are not interesting to most subscribers, who only subscribed so they can ask for help, or learn from others' problems and solutions. Such users are not as interested in the behind-the-scenes coding and meta-coding discussions.
There's a separate xymon-dev mailing list that nobody seems to have used since January last year, but would probably have been where these developer discussions took place in the past. But mailing lists can be problematic, or sometimes just aren't the best fit for a purpose. Github discussions may better fill the need.

"[X] DiscussionsDiscussions are not enabled for this repository"
Should we enable discussions? I know that opens a separate front of communication and reports, however I understand people are selective about their inboxes, and discussions will likely connect with people not on the list or Delta chat to also get involved.

Hello everyone,
Being a collaborator notifies you of nothing: on GitHub, rights and
notifications are unrelated. What subscribes you is the Watch button,
and on xymon-monitoring/xymon nobody was using it, myself included. So
when Scot opened #521, #522 and #523 last week, GitHub announced them
to no one. Three clicks fix that, at the top right of
https://github.com/xymon-monitoring/xymon
Watch -> Custom -> Pull requests. No membership needed, the repository
is public. And if you want to join the organisation, just let us know.
Cheers,
Bruno
