Help with Xymon 4.3.7 runing Solaris x86
Hi all,
I have installed Xymon previously on Linux and had no problems getting the graphs to display on the web page but despite numerous attempts and lots of searching on the web I can't get them to be displayed at all on my Solaris x86 installation.
They just appear on any browser like this below but there were no errors during installation and compilation. No errors in the apache logs either. I have gone to the demo site http://xymon.com/xymon/xymon.html and can see all the graphs fine and then drill down using the zoom fine.
On my system I just get this message "Garbage ': 29-May-2012 14:36:38' after command: COMMENT:Updated: 29-May-2012 14:36:38"
Any ideas as stumped?
Thanks
Paul

Had the same sort of trouble numerous of times. (but I run 4.3.5) Almost always it was all due to missing dependencies of rrdtool. I can't remember but I think I had to back off and use Sunfreeware rrdtool 1.2.19 Tried to use 1.4.3 but it didn't work, well 1.2.19 does the job just as fine.
Try sunws1 % ldd /usr/local/rrdtool-1.2.19/bin/rrdtool librrd.so.2 => /usr/local/rrdtool-1.2.19/lib/librrd.so.2 libpng12.so.0 => /usr/lib/libpng12.so.0 libart_lgpl_2.so.2 => /usr/lib/libart_lgpl_2.so.2 libm.so.2 => /usr/lib/libm.so.2 libfreetype.so.6 => /usr/local/lib/libfreetype.so.6 libz.so => /usr/lib/libz.so libc.so.1 => /usr/lib/libc.so.1 libgcc_s.so.1 => /usr/local/lib/libgcc_s.so.1
Here are my installed req, slightly newer versions should be just as fine. sunws1 % tar tvf xymonreqx86.tar -rw-r--r-- rolands/staff 4356608 2010-08-06 14:19 rrdtool-1.2.19-sol10-x86-local -rw-r--r-- rolands/staff 375296 2010-08-06 14:19 libart_lgpl-2.3.19-sol10-x86-local -rw-r--r-- rolands/staff 1632768 2010-08-06 14:20 libpng-1.2.44-sol10-x86-local -rw-r--r-- rolands/staff 7143424 2010-08-06 14:21 freetype-2.3.9-sol10-x86-local -rw-r--r-- rolands/staff 2078208 2010-07-23 14:44 zlib-1.2.5-sol10-x86-local sunws1 % tar tvf xymonreqx86-2.tar.gz -rw-r--r-- rolands/staff 55670784 2010-10-05 11:57 db-4.7.25.NC-sol10-x86-local -rw-r--r-- rolands/staff 19598 2010-05-12 13:30 eventlog-0.2.10-sol10-x86-local.gz -rw-r--r-- rolands/staff 7599616 2010-10-05 12:38 fontconfig-2.8.0-sol10-x86-local -rw-r--r-- rolands/staff 732160 2010-10-05 12:38 gd-2.0.35-sol10-x86-local -rw-r--r-- rolands/staff 15568896 2010-10-05 12:39 graphviz-2.26.3-sol10-x86-local -rw-r--r-- rolands/staff 1479680 2010-10-05 12:39 jpeg-8a-sol10-x86-local -rw-r--r-- rolands/staff 17018880 2010-10-05 15:57 openldap-2.4.23-sol10-x86-local -rw-r--r-- rolands/staff 14593536 2010-07-23 14:44 openssl-1.0.0a-sol10-x86-local -rw-r--r-- rolands/staff 1887744 2010-10-05 12:40 sasl-2.1.21-sol10-x86-local -rw-r--r-- rolands/staff 150844 2011-09-20 07:52 xpm-3.4k-sol10-intel-local.gz sunws1 %
