I'm preparing an official 4.2.1 release (should perhaps call it 4.2.2). This is for two reasons:
To put the all-in-one patch into an official release, which is apparently necessary.
To do a preliminary renaming from Hobbit to Xymon.
is obvious, and 2) is only for documentation and web- template changes. No new stuff.
Except one new thing: The BBWin patch to allow the BBWin centralized config mode - I think this is important enough that it should go in now, since there are probably quite a few people who will want this in their setup.
Anything else ? New feature stuff will not be accepted, this is purely a maintenance version until 4.3/5.0 arrives.

The trends patch from http://www.hswn.dk/hobbiton/2007/01/msg00236.html is also handy. I use it for a lot of scripts and it is not changing any core functions. I don't know if you call this a feature....
I also have 2 small patches for aix: one for 2 extra power5 counters and one for actual memory reporting (I don't remember creating this patch myself, but I think that without this page you don't get any reports on actual memory usage on AIX). I can send the diffs to the Hobbitmon-developer mailinglist.

It's been merged for the 4.3/5.0 version. If you've been using it, then it has probably seen some testing. I might add that ...

Please do!

I had sent two bug fixes that apply to 4.2 and 4.3 to the list a while back. It would be nice to see them go in.

Hi Henrik
Please confer with Etienne before putting the BBWin code into Xymon. There is currently an outstanding bug in the code, which causes Xymon to crash and core when you have certain definitions in the hobbit-clients.cfg file.
If we define HOST=WINHOST1 SVC "Service1" startup=automatic status=started color=red
Then all is good. However, if you don't care how it is started, and are only interested in checking if it's running, you configure it as this HOST=WINHOST1 SVC "Service1" status=started color=red
It then starts to core. I can generate a core and send you the details if you need it. (We recently recompiled Xymon to include debug info)
Search the list for posts from me under the subject "Hobbit/BBWin bug" for more info.
I think I sent a core to Etienne a while ago, but I haven't heard back.
From what Etienne said, I believe he recently changed jobs, so we probably need to be patient.

http://sourceforge.net/mailarchive/forum.php?thread_name=200811071452.59584.... developer
The last mail in that thread lists the 3 bugfix patches I have in the Mandriva package (the first one may be in a newer all-in-one patch, but was not in the one from 2007-02-09 10:30 UTC, but the last two aren't).
About the only other thing I currently patch in in the Mandriva packages is the devmon rrd collector.

Hi Henrik,
The attached patch (pingloop.patch) was, I think, applied by you to trunk in May, but the same issue is in 4.2.0 (and I've had it since on a 4.2.0 server).
Kind regards,
SebA

Can we get this fix in the 4.2.1 release? Both configure.server and
configure.client has this issue.
