You mean like the example scripts provided in the source (e.g. look in rpm/ or debian/)?
Or like the init scripts provided and used by packages of Xymon?
I know that I could update all my client scripts but if I update my installation this change will be gone.
This is why one uses software packages (such as rpm or deb) to deploy software.
