This is an old bug... I wish it would be fixed... I'm pretty sure I submitted a bug report on the ubuntu system about a year or something ago... I recently had to re-install it, and found my own bug report :)

Anyway, to work around it, you can simply do this: export HOBBITSERVERS=123.123.123.123 dpkg -i Ubuntu606-hobbit-client_4.2.0-1_i386.deb

That should complete properly. After, made sure you re-edit the /etc/default/hobbit-client file to make sure it has the correct settings, and then re-start hobbit-client.

PS, yes, catching up on old mailing list posts... so hopefully you have worked it out before, but if not... here it is :)
