[hobbit] Confused with test settings!
can you ping the client from the server?
can you ping the server from the client?
bb-hosts entry needs : -
<dotted quad ip address> hostname
The hostname must be the same as the client reports, unless you use testip in which case it will ping using the ip-address.

The existing servers have a mixture of nothing after the host name, some have testip.
To get the basic ping result do I need anything beyond the hostname? Other info is returned from the hosts ok.

The hobbit server has this entry:

Does that point to any deficiencies?

From the hobbit server, are you ping'n by IP or by hostname? I was under the impression that you needed a FQDN in bb-hosts
'hostname.domain.com'

I've tried with FQD and it didn't make any difference...

This looks ok, but obviously something's messed up somewhere.
Could you try this on your Hobbit server:
- login as the hobbit user
- run the command ~hobbit/server/bin/bbcmd bbtest-net --debug --no-update FTV01 and send us the output.
And check that the CONNTEST setting in hobbitserver.cfg is set to TRUE.
