Hi guys
Was there a decision made regarding a separate hobbit developer list? One of my colleagues is interested in getting involved.
Also, I remember there being mention of customisable look and feel, and possibly local skins. Are there any plans to head in that direction?
Cheers Vernon

I would like to try and look at writing a new frontend in Catalyst (perl), but it will most likely need some new features in Hobbit.
Additionally, some features I would like to add to Devmon may also require changes in Hobbit.
Since I don't think this list is appropriate to my development questions, I am also waiting for a -devel list ...

Did these questions ever get answered?
Also, I thought I saw in some documentation somewhere that there may be plans to allow web based configuration. Is that something that is in place, or being worked on? If not, I might be interested in taking that on if anyone is interested...

See http://www.trantor.org/theshire/doku.php/addons Hobbit Admin Tools I never got these to work cleanly on my suns. Also I hav bb-host.cgi from somewhere that lets to edit the bb-hosts file. Lastly Ive mention (ask?) that it shouldn't be too hard to add a drop test to enable/disable page.

Yes, Henrik said he will create a developer list.

The problem of hobbit development is that WE(including me ;) still rely on Henrik to do the development. I think it is time more more people to join the development. Since now we have moved project to sourceforge.
For Web admin GUI, we have many options,
- I think you mentioned catalyst(perl based) tool.
- webmin is also perl based, bb already has a webmin module.
- Trac admin plug-in (python) is my favorite. I like to see hobbit is another tab on the Trac UI. and integrate with Trac's ticket system.
I hope one day we can be as strong as samba project that even have buildbot farm to build the code once there a new svn checkin.

I'll use this as an excuse to see how the Sourceforge mailing lists are working. So "hobbitmon-developer at lists.sourceforge.net" has been created now, and should be available to all of you within a day (that's what the SF website tells me).
Regards, Henrik
It really took one day was Henrik said.
You need to subscribe to the list at
