Does the does the xymon client allow the use of includes? For example, can you add the include clientlaunch.d/*.cfg to allow it to read the client tasks? I don't see anything obvious in the man page but the fact that it refers you to the tasks.cfg hints that it should.

Yep! Virtually any file (except cgioptions.cfg) can use the include or directory (which is probably what you want) options to bring in additional configuration bits. They can be nested down as well.

Yeah...didn't work for me...the log file shows it didn't even try...

Yep! Virtually any file (except cgioptions.cfg) can use the include or directory (which is probably what you want) options to bring in additional configuration bits. They can be nested down as well.

I wonder if it has to do with trying it on the server and using the xymon-server script...

yep...that was it...I ran the runclient.sh script and it worked as expected...now I need to look more closely at the server service...
