How can I make the post content collumn go red if the http server is not resonding ?
Now I get a clear image but I would like the test to go red.

Put a "~" in front of the "post", like
10.0.0.1 www.foo.com # ~post;http://blabla/mypage.php;data=foo;whatever
A "noclear" tag does the same, I just haven't gotten that into the bb-hosts man-page yet.

I already tried the tilde solution. I have
~post=smart;https://www.myweb.com/portletWeb;Uid=username&Pwd=Password;"String to test for"
but this does not work so I will try the noclear tag.
