PROC Alerts showing clear
I have set up PROC tests in hobbt-alerts.cfg but the process page is still showing clear with "No process checks defined" as the message. If I check with bbcmd, it seems to be seeing the PROC tests. I do have the default stanza at the bottom of the file. I also tried to add the PROC test to the default stanza with no luck. There doesn't appear to be anything else based on the man pages. Has anyone else seen this issue?
./bbcmd hobbitd_client --test 2010-07-09 18:23:55 Using default environment file /opt/xymon/server/etc/hobbitserver.cfg Hostname (.=end, ?=dump, !=reload) []: xxxxxxxxxxx Hosttype []: Test (cpu, mem, disk, proc, log, port): proc To read 'ps' data from a file, enter '@FILENAME' at the prompt ps command string: Process lcfd color red: Count=0, min=1, max=3
Thanks, Tim

I have checked the Xymon manual/list and also for such plugin, but I wasn't able to find any function to test reverse DNS lookup.
Does anyone know, if there is such function available?
I just would like to test the IP of a server to the domain name.

I should read the manual better!
I found it!

Maybe the manual should be updated in a way that makes these questions easier. Document writing is a art by itself and normally developers are not too hot. Technical manuals no problem.
Real programmers don't document the code is self explanatory..

I find in many cases that the questions *are* documented, the users just haven't read the documentation.

This may be an issue for some aspects of Xymon. However, I would prefer not to have exhaustive documentation for things that are already covered in the man pages, however an FAQ could point users to the appropriate docs.

I agree.
