SunOS zorn.math.purdue.edu 5.10 Generic_120011-14 sun4u sparc SUNW,Sun-Fire-280R with Hobbit 4.2.0

I have been running hobbit v4.2.0 for several months now and just noticed that procs heading nothing is being graphed.

What is the graph at the bottom of the procs page suppose to show? I assume it is the number of processes

Is there some parameter that needs to be set for this to graph?

New subject: [hobbit] procs graph not graphing

The procs is for monitoring processes that should be running and are not. It does a ps listing and throws it on the server. I see no graphs on procs.

Hummm,

If I click on the proc icon host I have a list of the processes that I am monitoring, then I have a list of all the processes running(ps), and the at the bottom I have

        Status unchanged in ..

        Status messages received..

        Client data available

        THEN AN EMPTY GRAPH

The question now is; am I even suppose to have this graph. Per Josh he does not seem to have anything like this.

Well I went to http://www.hswn.dk/hobbit-cgi/bb-hostsvc.sh?HOST=voodoo.hswn.dk <http://www.hswn.dk/hobbit-cgi/bb-hostsvc.sh?HOST=voodoo.hswn.dk&SERVICE=pro cs> &SERVICE=procs and it is the same as mine. So I guess there is supposed to be a blank graph a the bottom of the procs page.

Hmm, that's new. Must be something with the latest snapshot, as my release 4.2.0 Hobbit install doesn't have that.

After a little more reading I found the following in hobbitclient.cfg under PROC

The TRACK=id option causes the number of processes found to be

recorded

in an RRD file, with "id" as part of the filename. This graph

will then

appear on the "procs" page as well as on the "trends" page.

Note that

"id" must be unique among the processes tracked for each host.

I guess this must be a default as I have not used TRACK in any of my hobbitclient.cfg entries.
