Hi All,
I'm new to hobbit (after the lad that was running it on our network upped and went) and am having a couple of problems.
I have successfully loaded a couple of windoze clients, although I can't get a 'conn' icon to appear (although the existing machines all return conn icons).
I've also added a client to a linux machine, but I can't get that to return a thing! (the host name is correct)
I'm new to the linux/unix environment, but I'm learning a lot as the days pass!
Thanks for any help!
Andy G

Have you updated the bb-hosts (under $BBHOME/etc) file to include the new win machines? It may be possible that your predecessor set hobbit to allow all data sent to it, with the linux client tail all the logs (tail $BBHOME/logs/*) and send them. (sorry if the stuff in brackets are obvious but would rather tell you things you know than not tell you things you need to) Jason.

Check out the Ghost-report to make sure you got the hostname correct...
Also, after installing the hobbit-client on a machine and like to do a tcpdump on the hobbit server to make sure the hobbit client traffic is getting back to the machine. Could be an ACL or firewall blocking you...
good luck, michael

Ok, I've now got the Linux client to work (thick fingers had miss typed the Ip ;-) )
Still not sure about the conn icon (still not showing for my new additions)
Another question: Can I use >= in the procs to show that I want at least x number of services to run? Or can I only specify least and most?
Thanks for the help!

Just specify the least number and it look for at least that many without checking the total count.
