Design question:
Currently we have 2 separate networks.
We are running BB on both of the networks. The display is on the
local network.
The separated network can send info to the local network so that the
local BB server can display all of the information for us and alert us.
There are about 40 servers we need the info from on the separated
network.
Is there a way to accept the data from the separated BB server into
the local Xymon server?
We will be replacing the BB server with the Xymon server on the
local network.
We do not want to punch a hole for each server if we don't have to
for security reasons.
Additional question:
Can an Xymon server on the separated network report all of its info
to the local Xymon server for display?
Do you need an additional Xymon server on the separated network to
just gather the info and forward it to the local Xymon server?
All ideas are appreciated! J
Thanks,

Sounds to me like you want to use bbproxy on that secondary network.
You can have one Xymon server report the overall status to another Xymon server. It will put a Remote Pages header at the bottom of bb.html and a link to the other server's bb.html so you can go into detail. I'm not sure what process actually does this. In the past at remote locations I just used the entire package so that the remote site can simply browse to it themselves.

Does anyone actually have any docs on how this done? I've tried setting this up in the past and ran into a brick-wall... Are their any specific entries to make on both servers?
Thganks,

I rebooted the server and now it did the ACK RED Checkmark.
Do I have to setup a crontab job to reboot every evening?
Or is this a problem for others?

I have several networks separated by various firewalls and a WAN. Each network (remote site) runs BB BTF (on windows) and each display locally and relay to my central XyMon server. In my case the only setup of the remote sites was to add "BBRELAY:XyMON_REMOTE_IP_ADDRESS" to the relevant line in the bbhosts file. In my case the whole line looks like:
0.0.0.0 LOCAL_SERVER_NAME # BBDISPLAY BBPAGER BBNET BBRELAY:XyMON_REMOTE_IP_ADDRESS
Replace LOCAL_SERVER_NAME and XyMON_REMOTE_IP_ADDRESS with your relevant values ;-).
Hope this helps
Regards
Graeme
