Hi guys,
On linux servers, we can monitor the memory - physical, actual and swap.
Can this be done on windows servers ?
I know I had it on a Windows server using BBNT - I'd have a hard time believing that BBWin doesn't do something that important.

With bbwin you can monitor the windows CPU load, disk usage, memory, logfiles, network statistics, processes and services. Like BBNT did, but with the possibility of using central configuration files.
bbwin can be found at http://sourceforge.net/projects/bbwin

I have had a look at the bbclient on the windows server and don't see anything representing memory.
Unless im looking in the wrong place perhaps ?

BBclient - the software similar to that of hobbit's hobbot.client? That will do memory but it meant for *nix.

You should not use BBclient on Windows but the BBwin client.

The old BBNT client from Big Brother doesn't do memory, you need the "bb_memory" add-on from deadcat for that.
The bbwin client from sourceforge has memory monitoring built in.
Henrik
This client software is a little complicated to configure. Can anyone send me a sample of their bbwin.cfg file please ?
Thanks

We use a central configuration file, which is updated with the bbwinupdate agent. At installation a client gets the BBWin.cfg as a default configuration file.
At the central configuration they then download a bbwin.cfg file from the server and if there are system specific information a system specific file also. The most work is in defining which messages should be reported / ignored.
Hope this will help you

Bert
