Hello there,
please, can somebody explain the difference of example 1) and example 2) of putting a "DURATION" statement either in the "HOST=" line or in the "other" lines of alerts.cfg? Is there really a difference of the meaning of DURATION in example 1) and 2) ????
Example as one can see on the demo site at www.xymon.com:
HOST=home.scheel.dk SERVICE=http DURATION>10m REPEAT=6h MAIL henrik at scheel.dk
HOST=home.hswn.dk SERVICE=conn
MAIL henrik.storner at gmail.com REPEAT=30m DURATION>10m
The only difference that's visible for me could be, that in example 2) i would be able to configure a kind of escalation steps like you can read in my section below; i. e. recipient test-1 get's an alert after 10 minutes, recipient test-2 get's an alert after 20 minutes ..... ???
HOST=TESTHOST SERVICE=conn MAIL=test-1 at something.com<mailto:MAIL=test-1 at something.com> DURATION>10m MAIL=test-2 at something.com<mailto:MAIL=test-2 at something.com> DURATION>20m
Hope that's not a stupid thing ;-)
