Hey,
I'd swear Xymon can do this but I'm having a hell of a time finding it in the help. I seem to recall that you could add an alias in the alerts.cfg file that would allow you to set up a list of user groups that you then use in your alert rules. I don't _think_ it's the macros but similar. For example,
alias group1
bob at example.com
mary at example.com
HOST=www.foo.com MAIL group1 SERVICE=http REPEAT=1h
This would email Bob and Mary. Anyone else recall this and can point me to the right man page?
thanks

I use something like the following in my alerts.cfg:
$ImportantPeople=me at foo.com,you at bar.com,everyone at baz.com
DISPLAYGROUP=Production MAIL $ImportantPeople COLOR=red
-- Do things because you should, not just because you can.

Wasn't sure if I used multiple emails like that if it would work, either. I don't recall that being the way to do it but it if works...
thanks
