hi, i have xymon clients 4.2.2 on hp servers.wt are the commands related to hp-ilo and hl-health packages in linux so that i can wrtite external scripts for it.

this is what we are currently running, a custom script we wrote for big brother and ported to xymon. time permitting this should all be doable in devmon, there are already some templates available for compaq monitoring (and hp monitoring is basically the same). if you are already running devmon i would check out if that works for you.

Take a look at OpenIPMI and ipmitool. I've found that they give me access to most or all of what I can get through HP's tools, but do so in an architecture-independent manner. For example, the command "ipmitool sdr type temperature" will return the current temperature readings, along with the names of the probes.

I have used devmon with the compaq-server (and compaq-servernohspare) templates, which provides monitoring of power supplies, raid (disks and arrays), fans, temperature, and iml log for Xymon via SNMP.
