Hi all. I've completed my current journey of building a MacOS Xymon Client. The script and instructions can be found here. https://krisspringer.com/posts/xymon-client-for-macos.php
I may package it up into a DMG download for easy clickable installation in the future. We'll see how it goes.
Thanks to all the collaborators, Kris Springer
Hi Kris.
From the very interesting thread you triggered, I didn't understand the
purpose was to create a client for Mac.
Why the burden of using powershell I may be biased against that family of
shells), when ksh and bash are well integrated and available by default on
Mac?
I recall running configure && make from the source package and using the
result until not long ago, but ss you say, things may have changed since
OSX 10.11
I tried today on Sonoma (14.5) and xymon-4.3.30, and I only had to add
#include <stdlib.h> to lib/suid.c, then. run ./configure.client && make && make install, to have data sent to my existing server.
Feel free to add it as an alternative to your instructions, if you deem it
useful.
Nicola
