Estimate for 4.2 release?
Is there an estimate for when the 4.2 release will be available? I'm currently running 4.0.4 in production and have been testing the 4.1.2p1 and the 4.2pre release. I'm looking to upgrade for the hobbit client and want to minimize the number of upgrades.

I don't have a time for it. I expect that it will be sometime in March, but no promises.

Hi Henrik
this is very good news, as I'm waiting for 4.2 to migrate from BB client to Hobbit client on my Unix hosts (for client-based thresholds and DOWNTIME applied to individual tests). Do you plan to add new features, or is it feature freezed ?
thanks in advance !

It's mostly frozen by now.
My intention is to get log-file monitoring into the 4.2 release, so that the client side functionality is complete (or at least on level with the BB client). It would be nice to celebrate Hobbit's 1 year anniversary with a release including this.
There will also be the new "Critical systems" view which is in the current snapshots.
You can set DOWNTIME for individual tests, not just the whole server. This is already in the snapshots as well.
Plus the bugs that have been reported must be looked at, so I think that will keep me busy.

Hello Henrik,

Well the "1 year anniversary" should certainly be celebrated with a
least a big *HOORAY* and some gifts. As I understand you have a
wishlist at amazon.co.uk but I only see four gifts; that's correct? I
am not familiar with this wishlist thing, but I guess that when I buy
something from this list it will be delivered straight to you, am I
correct?
So what about the book: TCP/IP Illustrated: The Protocols v. 1 (APC) ?
I am a lousy singer but I propose the following:
On this particular date & time, the WWHC (WorldWide Hobbit Community)
will start to sing with a LOUD voice, so that you Henrik in Denmark
will certainly hear this truely meant anniversary song: "Happy
Birthday to you! Congratulations!"
Regards,
Peter
From a previous email correspondance:
