Hi,
I try to find were I can download the latest package of Xymon client PowerShell. Normally I use bbwin 0.13, but I want to look at the PowerShell.
Some bbwin client failed for no reason, and I get purple alerts.
Thanks.
David

WinPSClient works and is maintained. It can be found @ http://svn.code.sf.net/p/xymon/code/sandbox/WinPSClient
If you have svn installed the following command will download it for you: "svn checkout http://svn.code.sf.net/p/xymon/code/sandbox/WinPSClient ."
Some bbwin client failed for no reason, and I get purple alerts.
Best I can tell bbwin is dead and suffering from bit rot.

I do add " externalscriptlocation>c:\scripts</externalscriptlocation> "

Hi David
The external directive is used in client-local.cfg, not the client-side XML file.
One of the key differences between bbwin and XymonPSClient is that you have the option to push configuration from the Xymon server via client-local.cfg, rather than being configured on the client side.
This is a major advantage as you can control the configuration centrally.
You could create a local client-local.cfg and switch the option off to use the remote (Xymon) client-local.cfg, but I wouldn't recommend it.

Hi Zak,
Thanks for the reply. I have a question about CPU load. I get red for my SQL server, but the load is 16%.
Normally, I get red when it's overt 75%. I see in "processruntime" how to setup the threshold, but can I use it for all process or I need to list each of them ?
The learning curve from bbwin to xymonPS is not easy for me ...
thanks

Hi David
Processruntime is a test for determining if a process has been running longer than the set time - not what you're looking for. Most of the tests shown in the XymonPSClient are additional to the normal default tests (cpu, memory, disk etc) and so thresholds are defined in client-local.cfg.
However, for the normal default tests, thresholds are defined as normal in alert.cfg. This is similar to how the Linux client works and may be different to bbwin, I don't recall.
