Thanks for providing appropriate pointers. Changing "Require" statement from "Require local" to "Require all granted" in xymon.conf file fixed the issue.

The 403 error is from the access control modules in Apache. Probably you will find that configuration under /etc/apache2/conf.d/xymon.conf or in some of the config files under /etc/apache2/sites-enabled/

You might have IP-restrictions or some authentication scheme that block your access.

Look for "Deny", "Allow" or "Require" statements in the files mentioned above.

Hello All,

I am getting following error after installing Xymon and trying to access xymon URL.

Forbidden You don't have permission to access /xymon on this server.

Apache/2.4.18 (Ubuntu) Server at 10.207.12.135 Port 80

Appreciate any help. I have apache2 (Ubuntu version) installed and web server processes are running under www-data UNIX user. Xymon web directory is owned by xymon UNIX user, however with 755 permission. Hence I do not see any issue with www-data user having access to xymon web directories. Is any other security settings that needs to be done?
