if i want to page on both yellow and red, but still have recovery messaged when an event goes from red--> yellow, is it correct to do it this way:
ALERTCOLORS="yellow, red"; OKCOLORS="green, yellow, blue, clear" # Colors that may trigger a recovery message
or will it get confused?

This is correct, you need this change to alert on yellow status. But be aware this is somewhat broken, and may have the ramification that recovery pages will sometimes not be sent.
