Hello,
the client cannot work as standalone. you need at least a server, and the server comes with a client.
you should grab the packages from the sourceforge repository, install it on your server and see what you can do from here.
the docs comes with the software, but you can also find them at henrik's site http://www.hswn.dk
Hi,
I have hobbit installed on a server. The client directory is available as well. Do I just copy that directory to the linux machine ? how do I run the setup from there ?

I have a Red Hat EL 2.6.9-5. I am using hobbit 4-20 on it. I am getting inconsistent reports with ping on the server.
I can ping an address from another vmware server (windows) without a problem. I am also getting incorrect times (ms) with regards to ping responses on the remote sites I monitor.
Haven't patched this server so it could be due to that. Any insight would be appreciated.
Why not get away from it all this autumn with a short city-break from new easyJet Holidays?
We have thousands of great value short breaks in Europe available now at www.easyJet.com.
easyJet Airline Company Limited Registered in England with Registered number: 3034606 Subsidiary of easyJet Plc Registered in England with registered number: 3959649 Registered Office: Hangar 89, London Luton Airport, Luton, Bedfordshire LU2 9PF
I have rechecked this and the ping response times in terminal are different to what is reported in Hobbit. I have a 20ms difference in the hobbit output on my webpage than from the terminal to the same site.

I am running hobbit on a VMWARE box as well. It's a virtual server and I am getting the same issue.
When I ping from the CLI its around 2ms , but when hobbit ping's it from the application it's around 22ms.
I still have no clue why??? Any help would be great!!!!
Thanks, michael

I still have no clue why??? Any help would be great!!!! There are known problems with communication between the vmware guest and the vmware host. I have to execute ethtool -K eth0 tx off before I can communicate between the vmware guest on my laptop and my laptop.
Maybe this can help.

No such luck with that. Is there anything else that we can try the command didn't seem to resolve the issue.
This is what I tried;
ethtool -s eth0 speed 1000 duplex full autoneg off
error is Operation not supported and not setting speed duplex autoneg.

Per the IEEE standard, auto negotiate must be enabled when using GiG E. It's a standard all manufactures are suppose to follow.
