Sometimes on smtp test I see:
Service smtp on mail2 is OK (up)
220 SMTP Proxy Server Ready 500 Command unrecognized: mail 221 Service closing transmission channel closing connection
Seconds: 0.00
Other times I see:
Service smtp on mail2 is OK (up)
220 SMTP Proxy Server Ready
Seconds: 0.00
All seems to be fully functional at the other end.

Sounds like it could be related to http://lists.xymon.com/oldarchive/2010/11/msg00204.html
Unfortunately, I don't believe this has changed between 4.3.7 and now.
