You need to do all of your transfers in Binary mode instead of ASCII mode for text files. I personally transfer everything in binary mode.
That's typically the cause of the ^M on text files coming across an FTP Server.

<my-opinion>
Ftp is a horrible protocol for doing this kind of thing :(

As far as i can tell, this is actually a function of the FTP server. I have even seen this issue on installation CD's for UNIX type software.
Since I have seen this in the past, I had a quick check and found a way to fix. NOt really sure how you can stop this from happening though.
Cheers

Hi,
OK - I had this issue. Basically, these scripts seem to have been edited on a windows box, as so have the DOS style ^M at the end of each line. This will need to be removed for the scripts to run on a UNIX box. You can use a utility called "dos2unix" to convert all the scripts.
are you shure? before i mad my packets i hade used dos2unix, because there was a problem too in the past and since than i made this everytime.
Can it be that my ftp-client made this fault?

Hi Stefan,
I've downloaded 0.1.1, and am getting the Server 500 error on Apache, "The server encountered an internal error and was unable to complete your request.
Error message:
Premature end of script headers: testalarm.sh"
I looked on the apache web site regarding this error, and it says to try to run this from the command line. When I do, I get ": bad interpreter: No such file or directory".
I'm not sure what info you need from me to help me to help you figure this out J
I'm running OpenSuSE 10.0.
Thanks,
Al
