I need some assistance in understanding the YELLOW on the hobbit icon.
This is the server xymon is running on.
This is the only message that I can find that is an error message:
Latest errormessages:
Oversize status msg from 128.170.28.14 for slcts00:msgstruncated (n=801511, limit=262144)
Not sure what can be done to correct the error? Can I bump up a value somewhere?

Yellow is a step below red. Like traffic lights, yellow could be leading to a bad (red) event.
If that oversized status message isn't a problem, then I think you'll want to specify it to be green. I think this is in hobbit-clients.cfg

I do not have these values in the .cfg file on the xymon server.
Do I just add them to the .cfg file? Is there an explanation of each of the setting values?

Look in the archives for suggested values, but yes - simply add them at the bottom.

The defaults are shown in the man page. When you add the values use bits not Kb.
An example "shown with defaults change as needed":
MAXMSG_CLIENT=512000 MAXMSG_DATA=256000 MAXMSG_STATUS=256000
Per the hobbitserver.cfg man page: MAXMSG_STATUS The maximum size of a "status" message in kB, default: 256. Status messages are the ones that end up as columns on the web display. The default size should be adequate in most cases, but some extension scripts can generate very large status messages - close to 1024 kB. You should only change this if you see mes- sages in the hobbitd log file about status messages being trun- cated.
MAXMSG_CLIENT
The maximum size of a "client" message in kB,default: 512. "client" messages are generated by the Xymon client, and often include large process-listings. You should only change this if you see messages in the hobbitd log file about client messages being truncated.
MAXMSG_DATA
The maximum size of a "data" message in kB,default: 256. "data" messages are typically used for client reports of e.g. netstat or vmstat data. You should only change this setting if you see messages in the hobbitd log file about data messages being truncated.
