I believe Henri put those entries in for use by external scripts written for BigBrother that people might be using with Hobbit. I don't think Hobbit uses them for anything.

I did, and you're right - Hobbit never looks at those. Which is why I've removed them from the current snapshots together with a bunch of other bb-client-specific settings.
