MAPÉ - Monitoring App Page Extension
Hi Cami,
I have just installed MAPE on our Xymon installation and I have found that:
I can see MAPE view using Safari ONLY (!). Using IE 9 or Firefox 17 I can see only black screen (?)
I don't know what MAPE version I'm using but I have no hover info for red/yellow hosts. What about adding a version info inside the package?
What about launching parse-config.pl using Xymon's tasks.cfg instead of using xymoncmd in crontab?
In the tree view I can see hosts configured in my hosts.cfg but in some cases also the "group-only" tag text (see attached screen shot)

Thanks for your great work!
Regards.

Another thing...the tree view appears to ignore NAME directives in the hosts.cfg file and displays the "actual" host rather than the value displayed in the "NAME" field.

Only one other note...If the "organization" is set to something "long", only around 9 characters show up.

Very nice, Cami.
I'm wondering about the roadmap...I see that step 1.4 will generate hovering info for red/yellow hosts...will there also be an option to click on the host, in question, to get directly to the alarms? For that matter, will there be an option to click on green hosts to go to their info?
Thanks again...this is a great looking tool.

Hi all,
Just a quick mail to say there is a download link posted with installation instructions listed on the site ( http://mape.hack.co.za ). Feel free to provide comments or ideas either off or on list.
Cheers, Cami

I've tested it with Safari / IE9 / FF and Chrome and all of them are displaying correctly. If you could mail me your data.php file that is being generated (off list please) i'll dig through it.

Sure, that is a good idea.

I was doing that at the start but it wasn't working as i wanted it to.

Fixed (along with other group-variants) and i'll include it in the next release.. Thanks for the feedback!

When you upgraded (or initially installed), did you edit the parse-config.pl file as well as the config.pl to reflect the proper location of your Xymon installation?

The problem is caused by TABS (\t) in his hosts.cfg. JSON is rather strict with those types of things. Next version will replace that automatically when parsing. For those experiencing the same thing, use VIM to search and replace it with :%s/\t/ /g or sed: sed -i "s/\t/ /g" hosts.cfg
Regards, Cami
Interesting. Thanks for the update.

Hi all,
I have followed Cami's suggestion (strip away TABS) and something is changed that is I can see MAPE' view in Firefox 17 now, but I cannot see it in IE 9.

Any progress on getting it to follow "Include" and "Directory" directives? Our entire site is organized this way. This is a very cool add on!
