I don't know the inner workings real well, but it looks like there is some amibiguity for turning off pings for bbtest-net.

in ~/server/etc/hobbitserver.cfg there is

CONNTEST="TRUE"

but it does not appears to have an affect.

To disable the CONNTEST you have to really edit ~/server/etc/hobbitlaunch.cfg

[bbnet] ENVFILE /usr/local/hobbit/server/etc/hobbitserver.cfg NEEDS hobbitd CMD bbtest-net --report --noping --checkresponse LOGFILE $BBSERVERLOGS/bb-network.log INTERVAL 5m
