Alerts : how State Flapping is handled by xymon?
hi, we are trying to find as how State Flapping is taken care in xymon to avoid too many mails fo the same. any help will be appriciated.

In the 4.2.x versions, there is no flap detection at all.
4.3.0 RC1 detects flapping. By default, a status is considered "flapping" if there are more than 5 status changes over a 30-minute period (this can be changed, but it is a global setting - not per-host configurable).
When a status is detected as flapping, it is "locked" on the most severe status. So if it was flapping between yellow and red, it will be locked to "red" status. It will then stay red until it has been stable on another color for at least 30 minutes.

Is this easy to change? I want to know if there are too many state changes in 1 hour instead, how I would go about changing this?

I can't find any mention for flap-count anywhere (even grepping through the beta3 sourcecode). What am i missing?

It's in the 4.3.0 RC1 build. beta-3 has flap detection, but you cannot tune those parameters (and the defaults chosen for beta-3 turned out to not be so great after all).
