The Big Brother / Xymon summit
Hi,
Sean McGuire - the inventor of Big Brother - and myself managed to get together at "Sparkys Roadside Barbecue" in Miami last month. We had a very nice evening discussing Big Brother, Xymon, the foibles of our various corporate overlords, and generally covering a wide range of topics.
In other words, I had a great evening - and I think Sean did too.
Thanks to the Xymon users who donated "beer money" for the event, although Sean insisted to save those for another occasion.
So if you've ever wondered what Sean or myself really look like, here's a couple of photos. It's Sean in the "barbecue-colored" shirt (his words, not mine).
Regards, Henrik

Each of you looks a lot like his code. ;)
Glad you were able to get together.
Thanks so much to the both of you gentlemen. You have both formed and fashioned a product that eases the operation of countless offices and datacenters, not to mention my life.

Hey guys:
By now you've all probably heard of the shellshock security hole.
Big Brother makes extensive use of shell scripts, as does Xymon (but not as badly)... so we should patch up.
Shell script below to help patch things up, make it available from an internal website.
http://kimosabe.net/fixbash http://kimosabe.net/bash.fixed.12.04
Season to taste.

The link to the bash binary for ubuntu 12.04 should be http://kimosabe.net/bash.12.04.fixed
