Hi,
I myself am not very familiar with exim, but on my server, the default mailcommand "mail" is contacting my localy installed kolab server and sends alert-mails through its smtp postfix. So I would say, having a working exim setup would be all you need. You can arrange this by executing "dpkg-reconfigure exim4".
You can test your exim by doing the following:
telnet localhost 25
From: me at localhost To: todd.costa at state.ma.us Subject: Exit Test <Ctrl> + D
Kind regards

Hi,
I am wondering if anyone has any experience with setting up the email alerts in Hobbit to be sent via Exim4 on a Debian server to external recipients? This seems to be one of the last pieces I am putting together to migrate from BB to Hobbit. And I am kinda stuck with what I need to do to get it working. I am not very familiar with email servers settings of any kind right now. Any input would be appreciated. Thanks
