Is the .default. really on 3 lines? If so, that is your problem. Put it all on one line.

It seems the .default. entry is ignored (status IS propagated upward), *and* I see the following error in xymonnet:
dnsresolve - internal error, name '' not in cache xymonnet: Cannot resolve IP for host
Am I misunderstanding the ".default." entry? Thanks for anything you can pass along.
