Vernon,
Hi all
Anybody had any luck using wildcards in the hostname definition of client-local.cfg? Is it even possible.
The man page doesn't suggest so.
FILE FORMAT The file is divided into sections, delimited by "[name]" lines. A section name can be either an operating system identifier - linux, solaris, hp-ux, aix, freebsd, openbsd, netbsd, darwin - or a hostname. When deciding which section to send to a client, Xymon will first look for a section named after the hostname of the client; if such a section does not exist, it will look for a section named by the operating system of the client. So you can configure special configurations for individual hosts, and have a default configura- tion for all other hosts of a certain type.
David.
I have no problem with [dbserv01] log:/var/adm/messages:10240 Other stuff
However, I am not having much luck with wildcard entries like [%dbserv..|dbdev..] log:/var/adm/messages:10240 Other stuff
This would save me a lot of time and effort, but not managing to make it work. Any tips? Or is it just not going to work?
Regards Vernon
