Check there is an entry log:/var/log/messages:10240 under an appropriate category in client-local.cfg on the server.
Also check that /var/log/messages is readable by the client user.
From memory, the messages file is owned by root, and is only set to read by owner only by default. Correcting this problem is left as an exercise for the reader.

Hi
I just finished building xymon 4.3.2. I have the server up and a single client. The messages column for my client is showing green. However, when I click on the icon, the web page is displayed with a purple band down the left side. The message displayed is No entries in /var/log messages Then it proceeds to print out the messages file. I’ve attached a screen print.
This is my localclient.cfg:
HOST=flower.pnl.gov MEMSWAP 70 90 PROC crond PROC sshd PROC syslogd LOG /var/log/messages
DEFAULT # These are the built-in defaults. UP 1h LOAD 5.0 10.0 DISK * 90 95 MEMPHYS 100 101 MEMSWAP 50 80 MEMACT 90 97
Can someone tell me what else I need to configure? This is a RHEL5 client.
Thanks.
Cathy
