Peter,
It's Windows, so uses "\" not "/" as path separator.
Two pieces required in two config files:
section in client-local.cfg under host to be checked - can use either file: or log: depending on whether you are just interested in metadata or also want to inspect new content (e.g. logfile):
[myhost.mydomain] file:C:\MyFolder\MyFile.log log:C:\MyFolder\MyFile.log:10240
section in analysis.cfg - example will go red unless file is created in past 10 days:
FILE C:\MyFolder\MyFile.log MTIME<864000 red
On the "files" test for the host, there should be a link for the file test which should display the section of the client report - sample below is based on using log: in client-local.cfg:
[logfile:C:\MyFolder\MyFile.log] type:100000 (file) mode:777 (not implemented) linkcount:1 owner:0 (MYDOMAIN\myuser) group:0 (MYDOMAIN\mygroup) size:11100 atime:1510103234 (2017/11/08-12:07:14) ctime:1509427381 (2017/10/31-16:23:01) mtime:1513142264 (2017/12/13-16:17:44) FileVersion: FileDescription:
If that is missing, there is also a link at the foot of the page to "Client data" - look for [file:...] or [logfile:...] headers
David.
Hi David I tried using xymonPSClient but get then same results.
I think the problem is somewhere in the analysis file. The line I am using is
FILE /bginfo/Junk.txt RED mtime<600
I have also tried
FILE c:/bginfo/Junk.txt RED mtime<600
without success.

Peter,
Which client are you running? BBWin or Powershell?
I was just dealing with this issue - I have some files that should be generated each day and so wanted to check MTIME did not get too old. Problem was, when the file was generated it appeared to be really old, and took about 11 hours before the test worked - coincidentally what the local time zone offset is. Turns out BBWin generates epoch time (seconds since 1/1/1970) with timezone offset applied.
So I switched to using Powershell client on those hosts and problem solved.
Windows client XymonPSClient has been updated to v2.27. You can download it here: _https://sourceforge.net/p/xymon/code/HEAD/tree/sandbox/WinPSClient/_ <https://urldefense.proofpoint.com/v2/url?u=https-3A__sourceforge.net_p_xymon_code_HEAD_tree_sandbox_WinPSClient_&d=DwMDaQ&c=JnBkUqWXzx2bz-3a05d47Q&r=ceSJsc9yrv7h2zucpUr__6g_H_J_dr9bwLQi3w-LGj8&m=exaUw7mMYU2BNhg4Fv23Wm8KKG_5dSRvzNH3ox0bYmc&s=mpGzwrv8w26VufVEzcYN8UXyUThOQLcwgiNQjHGmPhw&e=>
David. Hi
I am attempting (without much luck) to get the mtime working. I want an alert to change to red if the file is older than 10 minutes. The file resides on a Windows 2012r2 box.
The details are
Server Ubuntu 16.04.3.LTS
Xymon: xymon-4.3.28
Client-local.cfg
[MGTPW0D01W]_ __FILE:C:/Bginfo/Junk.txt_ <FILE:///C:/Bginfo/Junk.txt>
Analysis.cfg
HOST=MGTPW0D01W FILE /Bginfo/junk.txt mtime<300 RED
XYMON
The Xymon display page shows the file is older than 10 minutes but does not update the display.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Cheers
Peter
