Try OpenSSL section of your Makefile should like this and then make;make install

OpenSSL settings

SSLFLAGS = -DBBGEN_SSL

Change the following line if compiler complains about a missing ssl.h

SSLINCDIR = -I/usr/local/ssl/include
SSLLIBS = -L/usr/local/ssl/lib -lssl -lcrypto
RPATHVAL += /usr/local/ssl/lib

libssl.so.0.9.7 is available:

locate libssl.so.0.9.7

/usr/local/ssl/lib/libssl.so.0.9.7

Any ideas? I didn't see anything about this referenced in any prior messages.
