I migrated from hobbit 4.2.0 debian package to the new source install. I installed Xymon 4.2.2 in a new directory, according to documentation, and copied over data directory and configuration files. But I think it should be possible to install from source directly into your current hobbit directory (but make a copy of your old hobbit directory first).

I installed hobbit with a debian package, so I've no makefile :( I don't want to wait the debian package to upgrade hobbit, but if I've no choice...
I saw in the experimental debian depository there's the 4.3.0 version. Is someone install it?

Ho all,
I've a hobbit server (4.2.0) with about 100 servers. I want to update to xymon, safely... Of course. I've a lot of windows machines and I want to profit of the central mode.
How can I update my hobbit server ? There were some mails which talk about, but there were no clear responses. I upgraded a hobbit server by re-using the Makefile. So unpack Xymon, copy the Makefile and run make && make install. This will keep all the settings but will replace the hobbit binaries / scripts with the xymon versions.
