[hobbit] Make of todays snapshot unsuccesful

today's snapshot (30/03) builds & runs fine on my test system (Gentoo Linux x86, GCC 3.4.5).

I just have one suggestion : maybe the Hobbit version could include some sort of timestamp, like "4.2-pre03302006" ?
