Yeah, that I changed to [temp]. I'm assuming what I should be looking for are temp*.rrd files. If they are not there, is the client or the server not generating them? Where might I look to see why that is not happening? If the test is called temp, and you've added it in hobbitserver.cfg in TEST2RRD and optionally GRAPHS, and you've defined SPLITNCV_temp, you should find files called ^temp\.(.+)\.rrd$ (parameter of FNPATTERN). Did you read about custom graphs in Xymon, such as http://pto.linuxbog.dk/hobbit/help/howtograph.html ?
I have, thanks. I wanted to investigate the opportunity to use a built-in test first, but I can see that there are some problems with that idea regardless. Also, though, doing things that way helped me to understand the graphing process a lot better.
One thing that confused me the first time I set out to do this is that it appears to rely heavily on the output format of the status test. eg. It expects values of VALUE1: amount, VALUE2: amount... not something a whole lot more complicated. This makes using NCV to add graphing to an external script not a very simple idea, if I'm understanding that correctly.
Do you know if that is a proper take on it, or should I read deeper?
