Thank you, and the /home/xymon/server/bin/xymond_alert --test was
very very helpful.

Hi,
I have found my problem:
A page and and a page is not the same thing:
HOST=glengarry.cronomagic.com <http://glengarry.cronomagic.com> EXPAGE=md5 MAIL test at cronomagic.com <mailto:test at cronomagic.com>
HOST=machine.cronomagic.com <http://machine.cronomagic.com> MAIL frank at cronomagic.com <mailto:frank at cronomagic.com>
EXPAGE has nothing to do with an "alert". !!
This is what is should look like:
HOST=glengarry.cronomagic.com <http://glengarry.cronomagic.com> IGNORE HOST=glengarry.cronomagic.com SERVICE=md5 MAIL test at cronomagic.com <mailto:test at cronomagic.com>
I think this should work too:
HOST=glengarry.cronomagic.com <http://glengarry.cronomagic.com> IGNORE SERVICE=md5 MAIL test at cronomagic.com <mailto:test at cronomagic.com>
I am testing!
