One of our AD-servers went down for maintenance for 1 week, and I disabled the conn+dns tests in Xymon for that period. Now the "bbtest" column suddenly goes yellow, and indicates that DNS lookups takes 450+ seconds now (indicating that the DNS-check for the maintenanced server is still active).
I normally run into this I believe when I have a server that is down or that is no longer in the DNS. No longer in the DNS makes sense, but I'd expect it to fail immediately. Anyhow, I'd look to see if a host you no longer have is in the configuration still.
Is there any easy way to troubleshoot this?
