MSG column and HPUX 11.11

I have a mixture of hpux 11.11 and 11.23 servers. The MSG column shows up fine and is scanning the /var/adm/syslog/syslog.log file on HPUX 11.23 but not on HPUX 11.11 where it shows up as white. Is there anything I can do to have it scan the syslog.log file on HPUX 11.11 as well?
