Hi, I have setup hobbit in an environment with many DMZ's separated by firewalls.
I can monitor many services by starting bbtest-net via ssh on remote hosts and forwarding the hobbit port with this same ssh connection to get the results returned.
But some services can only be reached over proxies and/or socks. This poses some problems:
- bbtest-net does not support https over a proxy. I have seen that this requirement is on the TOTO list. Is someone working on this, and will this feature be implemented in the future? As a workaround I have developed a script using curl, but this does not scale well for large number of URL's, and does not deliver the certificate information.
- I have also tried to run bbtest-net socksified to test servers via socks. With version 4.2.0 this works somehow but returns per monitor an error 'select failed - EINTR' and if many monitors are long-running, the bbtest-net program can hang. With version 4.2.3 bbtest-net core-dumps, except if it is called with the parameters '--dns=ip --noping --no-ares', and in this it case delivers the same error message.
Freundliche Grüsse / Kind regards
