Hello,
We have started the process of defining and adding alerts to Hobbit. The first part of this is to add downtimes. No point in people getting needless pages.
I have added DOWNTIME tags to some servers, and it appears in the info page quite nicely as "Planned downtime:Sunday:2100:2300", which is perfect.
On another host, we had put in a DESCR previously as a test, and removed it today when I put in the DOWNTIME tag. Now, on the info tab for that system, it did remove the Description, but is not putting the DOWNTIME tag in the same place as the other "working" downtime tags. However, on the bottom of this page, it has "Other tags:ftp telnet DOWNTIME:0:1930:2000", so I'm assuming that Hobbit knows about the downtime.
This is more of an inconsistency which will be pointed out rapidly here, so I have two questions:
- Does Hobbit know that this is the planned downtime for this system, even though it does not display a "Planned Downtime" line on the info page, but catches it on the "other tags" line? I want to make sure someone doesn't get a page during a planned downtime.
- Is there a way to get this to be consistent across info pages? I like that it shows you planned downtime right above the alerts, and the people here that will be looking at it will be looking in the same place (hard to get them to look further :-().
Thanks
