You could probably install a newer version of the xymon client from a newer ubuntu repo. The latest client in the repos seems to be 4.3.17_6

make install
/below command if you created a user to urun it or not, it's going to need sudo or not... and depends on the location of your install, I've used /opt/xymon-client/
su xymon /opt/xymon-client/xymon.sh start
