[Xymon] Anyone using OpenTSDB for metrics storage?

Has anyone out there done work with OpenTSDB as a metrics storage engine (RRD, but better and cloudier)? Writing up another worker module seems like it would be easy enough, and I'm looking at a potential holiday project here.
