Hello all,
I am trying to find another way to perform LDAP test and I found a script that was made for BB I tried to modify it a bit but it just still does not work. The scripts is: bbldap_3.0rel (at least, it is the name I found).
If anyone has something different than the standard LDAP module to test its LDAP service then let it me know.
Many thanks for any support,
Etienne.

It might help if you could describe in more detail what it is you want to test.

I have a question about the logs of Windows Clients.
Often I get an error message, because of a printer who didnt work. The windows Client also write this in the logs. Is it possible to ignore those messages also? I know I can ignore it for Linux clients, but for Windows clients, they dont a path like /var/log/messages.
If it is possible, how do I have to config the Hobbit Server 4.2?
The last two days, I installed a hobbid client on a Buffalo Linkstation/Kurobox. I was realy surprised, it is working well. Okay, for the Linkstation Pro I had to change some commands in the config, but now I can see almost of all information about my Lan-backupsystem. Most important I think is to see free Diskspace!

What Windows client are you using? If it's BBWin then it is pretty easy - just add the relevant ignore line to the bbwin.cfg file, it even contains examples to help :)

But isn`t it possible to ignore it on server? I have a of Windows (98SE,2K,XP) clients. If I have to change it on every client, I will be busy until the end of the year! On Linux clients I can do it on server !?

Hi Maik,
You can also configure the clients to pull their config from the server, saving this grief! :)

Unfortunately, the currently available Windows clients do not support the Hobbit way of analysing all data on the server - they use a local configuration file which is maintained on each of the systems you're monitoring.

Presumably you have some form of remote management for all those clients, maybe even SUS? Why not use that to push out the updates and restart bbwin (assuming you're using bbwin, you still haven't said).
