Hi,
I installed snapshot from last friday and bbgen crashed. I restored the backup of server-directory and bbgen went green again. This morning I installed latest snapshot again. I had a look in the bbgen history and found there that the history was not changed after restoring the server. It says that it has been red for 2 days 23:02:35
How can I manually get it green again, and remove the last red entry.

Ok, after some investigation. I removed last line from data/hist/host.bbgen and change the new last line ----- Original Message ----- From: lars ebeling To: hobbit Sent: Monday, October 17, 2005 6:54 AM Subject: [hobbit] bbgen history

Greetings,
I have hobbit setup to check ftp status, and recently i have started getting yellow alerts with the following messages on the page:
Mon Oct 17 15:24:18 2005 ftp NOT ok
Service ftp on [hostname edited out] is not OK : Unexpected service response
Seconds: 0.01
Any ideas??
thanks, Adam

I had a Windows based ftp server which shut down the connection immediately when Hobbit sent the "quit" command - before it was done sending the initial "200 Ok" greeting, resulting in this problem.
Could you try changing the "ftp" in bb-hosts to "ftp:s" and see if that makes the problem go away ?
Regards, Henrik
I put the change in, however it still didn't fix it -- I did realize, however, that there was a change on the system so that now xinetd is managing the allow/deny lists... however, when the hobbit server has !ftp - it goes red because ftp is on and when it has ftp it is yellow...
Thanks, Adam
