need custom windows ext scripts - paying gig
Guys is there someone here who can code some windows ext scripts for me? I am looking to gather all the data from HP server agents..hardware status, raid, errors, inventory etc. Must be done from the client side because boxes are behind fw.
Dave
Devmon supports the HP ProLiant series SNMP agent, whether the server runs Windows or Linux, and monitors fans, power supplies, raid arrays, temperature probes etc.
Assuming you can run a Linux monitoring server (or VM) on the same side of the firewall as the servers in question, you can set the server up to poll the servers and report to your Xymon server.

yes I know about devmon but it doesn't work for me because servers are behind firewalls. So I need a local snmp client that will do the queries and then hand off the result to bbwin to relay to xymon.

You didn't say if the setup I described below is an option or not. You don't need bbwin to relay to xymon. If you can afford to put a devmon host in this network/DMZ, it can poll the servers, and report to your existing xymon server.

Hi all,
I recently built a Redhat based xymon server and installed devmon for the first time. Since we are a Cisco shop, the standard templates appear to cover everything we have. The problem is that some of our devices are not reporting fully. My networking guy seems to think it has to do with the version of the Cisco O/S and I think it is because he does not have all the needed SNMP modules enabled. Does anyone know if there is a minimum release of the Cisco O/S required for the standard templates to work? If not, is there a list of SNMP modules which need to be enabled available?
Thanks, Bruce

Are the devices not reporting all the same type, various types, same IOS Version?
It may simply be they're not being recognized as one of the existing templates and you might have to tweak it a bit.

I found that there are some differences if the device is CAT os versus IOS. You should be able to use a snmpwalk of the device to find what is showing and then make the new template to match.
